Zoe Ball will announce Cinderford’s winning Coronation Chicken on radio 2
For many one of the best bits of the coronation day will be seeing a tiny, inch wide, plastic crown that cost a few quid from Amazon placed on the head of a chicken. The town of Cinderford in the Forest of Dean will literally be crowning its own Coronation Chicken as part of a day of festivities.
Scores of chickens are competing for the honour and town crier Jer Holland will announce the winner on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2 on Thursday May 4. Mayor Roger Sterry will pick the winning chicken which must be good with people, be a confident public speaker, like to wear a crown and is a proud Forester.
We will also be crowning a king charles spaniel on the day and of course lots will ve going on in the town of Cinderford. Click here
