Gardening in the Autumn

Potatoes for Christmas

Potatoes for Christmas

Gardening in the Autumn can be very rewarding, and now that we have a greenhouse lots of extras have been opened up for us. After a long hot summer we have now had some rain and the garden is showing the result of these much needed showers. Foe the first time ever I am starting off potatoes for Christmas. These are second earlies, Nicola and Maris Peer. They will be grown in bags in the greenhouse so it will be interesting to see how they do.

Runner beans are at last producing eatable crops after the rain, and my sprouts look wonderful. We have had a bumper crop of tomatoes but they are now coming to an end.

Vandas flowers have been very succesful as well, but they have had daily watering.

My new website https://gloucestershireevents.co.uk/ has been doing so weel that I have had to upgrade the hosing to keep up with the flood of visitors and the Facebook group ascociated with it https://www.facebook.com/groups/1477985797193021 now has nearly 2000 members so that is very heartening.

I have been working 6 days a week for Lydcare taking people to hospital apointments. The traffic at Over has made this extremely difficult.
