Visitor Stats

We have seen a slight rise in visitor numbers in the last month, but nothing terribly significant but there is a change in where they are coming from. Visitor Stats are an important measure of how many people read the blog.

So, in the last 30 days we have had 2,865 unique visitors, may of them return, 6223 visits and 26,982 page views. I don’t bother with hits nowadays as they include images etc and produce huge figures that don’t really mean very much.

Those figures reflect roughly what we normally get , do not much change there, but there is one glaring change in where our visitors come from.

Most come from search engines, Google producing the majority but Yahoo also provides quite a few and duck a goggo is starting to show. Twitter also provide quite a few hits , mostly from tweets about our events and gardening blogs.

Less Traffic from Facebook

The big change is Facebook .

We normally get a number of hits from Facebook, especially from our events calendar , but the last month has shown a very large drop. There are still a few coming through but not as many as we would expect. I have been chatting with other local blog owners and they are reporting the same. Why that should be I do not know. It may be just a blip so the next months stats should be interesting, but certainly at the moment the moral of the tale is don’t rely on Facebook.
