The Lyon Inn Westbury on Severn

Sunday lunch at the Lyon Inn

Sunday lunch at the Lyon Inn

The Lyon InnThis Sunday we tried the Lyon Inn in Westbury-on-Severn. This is a smashing pub just off the main road in Westbury-on-Severn. Parking isn’t a problem and it is a charming little village.

We were greeted by mine hosts Chris and Sue who were very welcoming and friendly and drew us a couple of local beers. We were then shown into the restaurant and shown the menu. We both went for aged Gloucestershire Longhorn Beef Sirloin with duck fat roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

The beef was wonderful. It was cooked well and was lovely and pink and the flavour was to die for. The Yorkshire pudding was home made, the vegetables were lovely and the all important gravy was delicious.

I did take a photo of the meal but sadly I chose the wrong setting and it is very blurred.

The Lyon InnThe restaurant was a lovely light room, and we were both pleased to see that there was plenty of room between tables. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we will be returning. Highly recommended.
