Retirement update – Retirement and being retired
It is quite ironic that many people told me I would soon get bored with being retired, but the truth is I am so busy now that finding sufficient time is the real problem, so I thought I would blog on Retirement and being retired. I still maintain several websites including:
- The City of Gloucester I was born in Gloucester and lived and worked there for many years. This site includes memories of the city , an events calendar showing what’s on in Gloucester and a history of Gloucester
- Forest of Dean Events – I now live in the Forest of Dean in the town of Cinderford and noticed that there was not anywhere on the web that covered the whole of the Forest of Dean for events, so I created this web site allowing people to Explore events taking place in the For est of Dean
- This site is mostly a personal blog but it also has a Forest of Dean Directory
- I also help out a local charity https://candi.website/ with their web site
In addition to this I am a volunteer driver for 2 local charities.
- Forest Sensory Services a small friendly charity, who provides support to those with sensory impairment (sight and hearing, based in Cinderford
- Lydney Dial A Ride alocal charity that specialises in medical appontments
I am also a keen gardener and I grow a lot of my own vegetables and produce a good show of flowers on the patio every summer. I still produce the occasional web site such as the Royal Forest of Dean Angling Club and I am actively looking for a local sponsor for the Forest of Dean Events site
My wife Vanda also keeps herself busy doing the books for the compny we used to run together before we reitred as well.
