Forest Sensory Services (FSS) Goes Bowling

Yesterday ( 17th November ) I took a couple of lovely people, Edith and Norman from the Forest Sensory Services  to Gloucester 10 pin bowling. The Bowling centre is on Gloucester ring road not far from Sainsburys supermarket.  The FSS is a Cinderford Charity providing support to all affected by sight loss and hearing loss in the Forest of Dean, and is one of the charities I do volunteer driving for.

We joined a larger group from FSS when we arrived. After setting up the electrononc score card, I helped my friends there to play, showing them the best way to throw the bowling ball and of course telling them which end of the alley to aim for on their second shot ( please remember they have impaired sight )

We all had a wonderful time although I have to admit they did better at the bowling than I did despite having problems with their sight.. Ah well, you can’t be good at everything. I am certain that this was a popular event that will be repeated.

Once the games were finished the whole group had a meal of burger and chips with a much needed drink.   I must confess I enjoyed the trip out and it was a great pleasure to help out. If you think ou would enjoy volinteer driving fpr the FSS then follow the link to their web site.

When we had all finished eating and drinking it was time for me to drive our guests home. In this case to Cinderford and Bream.
