Planting time and compost

I have done a lot of early planting this year as the weather has been very kind to gardeners. All my early potatoes are in now ( in containers and bags ) and I have also planted lots of onions in my deep beds. We are just finishing last years leeks and carrots and have started sowing seeds again. Pepper seeds have been sown and the garlic I planted out in pots is doing very well

Compost

Last year I bought a hot bin and was very disappointed with it. I started it from scratch again in February, helped it along with the hot water bottle and bought some bunjee straps to hold the bottom in. This has been a revelation. The straps that come with the hot bin are useless but looking at the hot bin today it is well up to temperature and doing well. I also invested in a large second hand shredder that can manage 10 sheets at a time and shreds cardboard boxes easily. To be honest the big problem is getting enough paper and cardboard for it
