Enjoying the spring garden

New AcerWith all this smashing sunny weather, Vanda and I have both been enjoying the garden. Our new potatoes are all showing their tops now, the first couple of rows of cauliflowers have been planted and leeks and spring onion seeds are in seed trays. I also treated myself to another small Acer yesterday that you can see on the left in a planter.

Carrot seeds are also in and of course the empty vegetable beds are growing a fine batch of weeds that I have now pulled up and added them to the hot bin. Tulips are coming up and all in all it is good to be alive in this beautiful forest. Cinderford is a good place to live.

Another bonus in doing a bit of weeding is that all the birds are suddenly your friend. It is good to see them hopping about eating all the grubs and insects, although I have had to net the cauliflowers to keep the sparrows off.
