Snow in the Forest of Dean

Well, like a lot of other folk we suffered in the latest snow and cold weather. It was impossible to get the car out because of the drifts, but the worst thing was having the boiler freeze up, so we had no central heating or hot water. We were both a bit ripe by the time we got it working again and it was marvellous to feel clean again.

Fortunately we had our log burner so we could keep one room warm, but even that was difficult as it was very hard getting to the shed to take fresh supplies in.

Today the sun is shining and the spring bulbs are showing their heads and here in my office I’m surrounded by chitting potatoes  and I must admit I’m very much looking forward to getting the vegetable garden planted up
