A wonderful Meal at the Miner’s Sling

There were many things on the menu that sounded marvellous, but in the end we both decided to try the suet beef pudding.
This amazing dish arrived on a dish of amazing beef gravy. It was the best I have ever tasted, and Vanda agreed. A dish of vegetables was included and consisted of kale, French beans, and young corn on the cob. A choice of new potatoes or triple cooked chips was offered, and we both decided to go for the chips.
The beef in the pudding was dexter beef that was so tender it could be cut with a spoon. The triple cooked chips were superb, crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Vanda and I both agreed that this was the best meal we have had in a long, long time.

The Miners is a friendly Forest of Dean Pub and the service is as good as the food they serve. There is plenty of room between tables, which I think is important. Local ales are served and paintings by local artists are displayed on the walls with prices in case you want to buy one.
We can’t praise this lovely pub highly enough and can thoroughly recommend it.
