First Runner Beans of the year

I have just picked the first runner beans of the year from the garden to eat with our Sunday lunch today. Runner beans are one of my  favorite vegetables. We have not grown any of them directly in the soil this year. All of them are in pots and grown up the garden fence  except for those grown in the old bath but again grown up the garden fence.

One bit of bad news though, we have carrot root fly so we are pulling them all today to make sure we have some to eat.
