Despite the late start there are many successes in our vegetable garden this year. Our beans are now producing a wonderful harvest, we have peppers and aubergines that are nearly ready ( was told impossible to grow them here in the Forest of Dean ) and the sprouts and cauliflowers are doing very well.
Sadly we are today harvesting any tomatoes that are eatable and then uprooting the plants. They have blight and so are not even any good for the compost heap, but it is all part of the joy of growing your own. The courgettes and sweetcorn are also doing well
We are growing for quality rather than quantity but nevertheless, we are more than self sufficient in sprouts and cabages.
